The challenge for plumbers

Customers may call you in a hurry, then forget to leave a review once a leak is fixed. A consistent follow-up keeps asking from depending on memory.

Choose a useful moment

After the job is complete and the customer has received the handover or invoice. Avoid interrupting an emergency call-out.

A neutral invitation to adapt

Thank you for choosing us for your plumbing work. If you would like to share your experience, you can leave an honest Google review here: [review link].

This is example wording. Replace the link with your own direct Google review link. For messages that count as direct marketing, include the required opt-out and check that you can lawfully send them.

Handle feedback with care

Keep addresses, access details and photographs of customers’ homes out of public replies.

Keep the public review option available to everyone. Private contact must remain an additional choice, including for unhappy customers.

What to review each month

Look at new reviews, unanswered questions and recurring comments about repeat repair visits, explanations of the work and clarity of the invoice.

These are process checks, not promises of more bookings, better ratings or higher rankings.

Start with tools you can use today

Before automating

Agree the trigger, duplicate suppression, sending limits, opt-outs and data permissions. Test the connection to your booking or job system during your free trial before relying on it.

Getting reviews from every kind of plumbing job

Plumbers do everything from five-minute tap washers to full bathroom refits. The review routine should fit both ends.

Emergency call-outs

A burst pipe or blocked drain is stressful. Customers are relieved when you arrive, but the best moment to ask is the next day, once things are dry and they have seen the invoice. A short text with your direct link is far more effective than asking on the doorstep with water still on the floor.

Bathroom and kitchen installations

For longer jobs, wait until the work is finished, sealant has cured and any snags are resolved. Customers then review the whole project, including tidiness and communication, which future clients care about.

Landlord and agency work

When an agent books the job, the agent is your customer. Ask them for a review of the working relationship, rather than texting tenants who did not choose you.

What customers mention

Reviews for plumbers often mention turning up on time, clear pricing, cleaning up and explaining the problem. These are the things to get right on every job.

A card in the van

Keep a few QR cards in the van for customers who prefer not to give a mobile number. Make one with our free stand and card template.
