What Trustindex does well
Trustindex is best known for review widgets. Its homepage says more than 1,000,000 businesses use it to “collect and embed reviews easily”, and its free WordPress plugin can show up to 10 Google reviews in one widget, with dozens of layouts and styles. Paid plans are billed yearly – $65 for Single, $125 for Pro and $349 for Ultimate – and add unlimited widgets, automatic review downloads and more than 130 review platforms. There is a 7-day trial without a card and a money-back guarantee. It also offers QR codes and NFC tap-to-review cards.
If your goal is simply to make existing reviews look good on your website, Trustindex is cheap and capable.
Where the two tools differ
The main difference is the job each tool is built for. Trustindex starts from displaying reviews. RepBeacon starts from asking for them – sending a text or email with your direct Google review link after a job, with one reminder – and then showing them in a dashboard and on your website.

A word on “negative review filters”
Some tools ask customers to rate their experience first, then only send happy customers to Google. Google calls this review gating and its policy does not allow it. Even if a tool offers the option, you are the one whose profile is at risk. RepBeacon does not filter: customers can send private feedback if they want to, but everyone can still reach your Google review form. Read more on our private feedback page.
Choose Trustindex if…
- You already have plenty of reviews and mainly want an attractive widget.
- You collect reviews on many platforms, such as Booking.com, Tripadvisor or Facebook.
- Your budget is under £10 a month and you are happy to ask for reviews by hand.
Choose RepBeacon if…
- Your problem is that customers are happy but forget to leave a review.
- You want texts to go out automatically after each job, with opt-outs handled.
- You want UK pricing in pounds and no contract.
Can you use both?
Yes. Some businesses use RepBeacon to collect Google reviews and keep a separate widget they already like. If you do, make sure you only show genuine reviews with their source, and do not edit what customers wrote. RepBeacon’s Free plan already includes a Google reviews widget, so you may not need two.
Getting started without risk

Frequently asked questions
Is the Trustindex free plugin really free?
Its WordPress plugin page describes a permanently free version that shows one widget with up to 10 Google reviews. More widgets, platforms and automatic updates need a paid plan.
Does RepBeacon work with WordPress?
RepBeacon’s review widget is embedded with a snippet of code, so it can be added to most websites, including WordPress, Wix and Squarespace. Check placement and page speed during your free trial.
Which is cheaper?
For displaying reviews only, Trustindex’s yearly plans are cheaper. RepBeacon costs more because it sends SMS and email requests, which carry real per-message costs.
