What GatherUp is good at

GatherUp is a mature review and customer-feedback platform. Its homepage leads with “Reputation is Revenue. Grow Both.” and much of the page is aimed at marketing agencies: white label, migrating client accounts and agency partner quotes. Alongside review requests by email and SMS, it offers Net Promoter Score and surveys, monitoring of more than 100 review sites, AI-drafted replies, reporting, widgets, an API, Zapier and webhooks.

Its published pricing is clear for the category. One location costs $99 a month on an annual subscription or $124 paid monthly. Multi-location accounts are priced per location, from $60 a month for 2–10 locations on annual billing. Every plan lists up to 300 SMS and 3,000 email credits per location per month. Listings management (Listings Hub, $40 per location) and Review Defense (from $45 per location) are add-ons. There is a 14-day free trial and the homepage says no credit card is needed.

Where RepBeacon is different

Choose GatherUp if…

• You need reviews from many sites besides Google, or listings management across directories.

A fair way to compare the two

Trial both with the same three real customers. Send each customer the same neutral message, check how many taps it takes to reach the Google review form on a phone, and see how the reply screen works when a review comes in. Then add up the yearly cost at your real volume. At one location, GatherUp’s annual plan is $1,188 a year; RepBeacon Pro on annual billing is £590 and Starter £290. Remember to compare VAT treatment and exchange rates, and check whether you would really use surveys, listings and multi-site reporting.

Moving from GatherUp

Your Google reviews belong to your Google Business Profile, not to the review tool, so they stay where they are when you switch. Export your customer contact list and opt-out records first, so you keep honouring anyone who asked not to be contacted. Recreate your request wording, and send a test to yourself before switching automations on. If you embed a reviews widget, replace the old code with the RepBeacon widget so you do not show two.

Questions to ask either provider

• What happens if I go over my SMS allowance – are texts paused or charged?
• Can every customer reach my public Google review form, whatever rating they give?
• How do opt-outs work, and can I export them?
• Is there a minimum term or an annual commitment?
